Last year I created a bit of a "wish list" and a list of goals for this past year. FAIL! Nary a one was accomplished, although I am getting away from vessels and into closed forms (one of which broke the other day when it rolled off the work platform and hit the floor).
I recently read about an exercise one can do to get more good and less bad in one's life: divide a page in half vertically, on the left side draw a picture (or use words, like I do - I might not recognize the picture after a while, as I am a poor artist) of what one would like more of, on the right what one would like less of. I like this kind of exercise because it is thought provoking, but I am having trouble coming up with much of anything on either side of the ledger. My life feels rather balanced, which is a blessing.
I did write down "Clay" on the "More" side. And I did make another closed form this past week, this one using twice as much clay as the previous ones, two pounds. That seems to be the upper limit on a pinched form.
Working on anything much larger is difficult, given my studio-in-the-laundry-room, so now I'm thinking smaller closed forms, and maybe some collars, so I can stack all these objects on a pole, for a garden "totem". We'll see.
